Job Overview

The Manager, Continuous Improvement is responsible for managing and implementing various productivity and standardization improvements, training programs, and engineering initiatives to help drive efficiency, consistency, and service within the distribution centers. This leader will partner with internal stakeholders and enterprise leaders to optimize product flow across our network. The Manager, Continuous Improvement will be responsible for leading the implementation of any process changes. Day to day, this leader will be partnering strategically with network leaders (Managers, Directors, VPs) to define and plan various business applications such as: enterprise strategic initiatives, product flow optimization, best practice process improvement, transitional product strategies, and process automation.

Essential Functions

Determines the most efficient sequence of operations, process flow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
Challenges the status quo, champions, and influences others to change.
Creates continuous improvement recommendations and implements solutions based on the use of analytical tools.
Adjusts and revitalizes standards, procedures, and layouts as needed to reflect changes in policy or procedure.
Develops work methods, process improvement, ergonomic workstation designs and documents process methods.
Analyzes and recommends updated standards in our current LMS to improve productivity and service level to internal customer.
Works with vendors and partners for the successful implementation of the new WMS system.
Develops improved methods, including evaluating new processes and/or procedures, and the most efficient means of utilizing floor space and time.
Develops a continuous improvement environment while challenging the norms and seeking alternative methods.
Coaches, trains, and onboards network partners on Continuous Improvement, as well as LMS structure, process, and procedures.
Provides training and process improvement support to operational teams in multiple departments and shifts to drive improved business results.
Develops and implements training strategies, policies, and procedures for standardization of training methodology.
Supports distribution safety initiatives. Develops improved methods, including evaluating new processes and/or procedures for a safe environment.
Directs technology and business partners to clearly define business/system requirements, address open items, and ensure progress toward milestones.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 2 years minimum experience

• Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.

• Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies.

Six Sigma/Lean Certification preferred

• Ability to solve problems as well as recognize issues and deal with them directly

Physical Requirements

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around facility or department

• Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.

• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision

• Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs

Supply Chain Only and Colleagues Working in a Supply Chain Facility except in locations governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement:

Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including but not limited to the size of the facility and the number of colleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected for testing by a third party. Testing must be completed on the same workday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absent extenuating circumstances. In all circumstances, testing must be completed within 24 hours of notification.
